Geofluids are one key player in geotechnical construction; an other one is well designed and well built equipment or machinery. One cannot go without the other and with our long experience in this business, we have selected a number of very reputable firms manufacturing geofluid related equipment that we are honored to represent.

SLURRY MIXERS: in collaboration with Specialty Fabricators, Inc. we manufacture large capacity quick cycle slurry mixers that may be used for all types of slurries including self-hardening slurry like IMPERMIX®. The 800 to 1000 gal models can be also used as holding tanks for pipe jacking lubricants with the adjunction of a low volume CHEMGROUT displacement pump.

CHEMGROUT: a name every body recognizes for functionality and reliability in underground construction works. The wide choice of grout mixers and grout pumps will satisfy all low to medium volumes requirements. We will help you match your geofluid and preparation equipment. Pipe jacking lubrication systems is where we may best assist you.

SOTRES/CAVIEM: among the pioneers of the sand separation equipment and a favorite of the deep foundation contractors and sand pit operators, reliability is the trademark of this firm. Capacities range from 10 to 400 tons of almost dry sand per hour. Customizing is available to adapt to prevalent soil types that the machine will be subject to.

LAMEX BELT PRESSES: when the very fine particles need to be removed from working slurries, various techniques are possible: centrifuges are removing everything fine down to the clay particles, at a very low rate and high cost. Filter presses are common in the water treatment industry, also very large and expensive equipment with relatively low output. We are favoring belt presses as the most cost effective continuous fines removal system. Preliminary polymer treatment of clay laden waste slurries is necessary in all three systems and we may assist you there.

SPECIAL SITUATIONS:: in the process of developing FREEZLUBE™ for a CA/T Big Dig project in Boston, the site restrictions precluded on site preparation of the product. FREEZLUBE™ very high viscosity would make it difficult to transfer from a preparation mixer to a holding vat. The solution was to manufacture a mixer unit that would hold enough product to satisfy any continuous drive and contain the pumping units to inject FREEZLUBE™ through the pre-cast tunnel walls. Specialty Fabricators, Inc. shouldered the task of engineering and fabricating the 4,000 gal capacity unit. FREEZLUBE™ was prepared off site and delivered in its mixer/dispenser unit and eventually lowered on the floor of the tunnel with a 50,000 lbs pick!

This mixer is now available to the microtunneling industry as a means of preparing lubricating slurry at longer intervals and not dedicate personnel to that task. GEOGREASE™ can also be prepared in the mixer off site when coarse ground conditions warrant a pasty lubrication product.
